I attended the keynote and really thought it was great. I like the way you walked through the fact that you must be inclusive all along the way to potentially get a few contributors in the end. I think this is how it works in all open source communities but it's edifying to hear it from another source. Well done.

Thanks!

I've been working, in my mind :), on a post about being a newbie feminist. Maybe "born again" is the right thought, and certainly a headline worthy of attention. I was raised by a strongly feminist single mother, so I was aware of the advantages the feminist movement had given myself and my peers, when those same peers had no clue. Recently, though, I realized how much I didn't know (I've been reading), it's been rather delightful learning, and especially I realized I hadn't been speaking up.

Anyway, that's one reason I note the attention I was giving, to help others who don't think about diversity issues to get a view inside the thinking of fellow human.

Nice talk! FWIW I didn't notice any lack of gender neutrality, and you used examples of multiple female contributors (thanks for the props btw ;-) ) I like how you focus on story telling because I think it not only gave solid examples of the principles you were trying to communicate, but it was really engaging to listen to. Good job!
