Moblin is a feature of Fedora 12 as an easy to install desktop environment.

Moblin is a lightweight Linux desktop environment especially suited for small form computers (netbooks et al).
Installation is straightforward.
Using the command line
- Open a terminal (shell).
- Install the Moblin group:
su -c 'yum install @moblin-desktop'
Using the graphical package manager
- Go to System > Administration > Add/Remove Software.
- Note: the name of the Add/Remove Software application is PackageKit.
- In the left side pane choose Moblin desktop.
- Click Apply to install the package set.
Using “Add/Remove Software”, I don’t see a “Moblin desktop” item in the left side pane but had to choose “Package collections” then manually scroll through the list and find “Moblin Desktop Environment”.
Just searching for “moblin desktop” through the search field doesn’t work either I had to add a dash and search for “moblin-desktop”.
Thanks for the catch. I was afraid we’d miss something; I was honestly too lazy to fire up PackageKit. 🙂 I’m going to make the change and add the search tip on the Fedora wiki, which is the canonical document anyway.
FYI and for anyone else reading, it’s easy to turn your experience in to help for others, i.e., a fix to the Fedora wiki. It’s open for editing, make a Fedora account, which only asks for username, email address, and a password:

I have tried to install following the instructions, but it seems not to work. it keeps telling me the repository is not found. i burned moblin to cd, tried copying into folder, and install from there, still giving same message. could someone kindly tell me what i may be doing wrong.
